Clarissa Tossin utiliza instalação, escultura, imagem-em-movimento, fotografia gerada por satélite e performance para abordar questões de deslocamento, histórias reprimidas e degradação ecológica, através de abordagens hápticas, sônicas e afetivas para além do didatismo. Tossin recebeu um prêmio da Foundation for Contemporary Arts em 2019 e tem obras nas coleções do Whitney Museum of American Art, do Los Angeles County Museum of Art, e do Museum of Fine Arts Houston, entre outros.

Duração: 17’56” “Belterra, Amazônia / Alberta, Michigan”, 2013, (amostra), projeção de vídeo HD em dois canais (15′ cada), instalação de som em oito canais, réplicas de bancos de madeira da Belterra e fotografia Mestre em artes visuais pelo California Institute of the Arts (CalArts-2009), Clarissa Tossin trabalha com instalação, escultura, vídeo, performance, e fotografia. Exposições individuais recentes incluem Future Fossil (2019) no Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study (Harvard University, EUA), Encontro das Águas (2018) no Blanton Museum of Art (Austin, EUA), e Azul Maia (2018) na Galeria Luisa Strina (São Paulo, Brasil). Em 2018, participou da exposição Pacha, Llaqta, Wasichay: Indigenous Space, Modern Architecture, New Art no Whitney Museum of American Art (New York – 2018) e da 12th Gwangju Biennale (Gwangju, Coréia do Sul, 2018). Em 2017, recebeu uma comissão da cidade de Los Angeles para a exposição Condemned To Be Modern parte do Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA organizado pela Getty Foundation. Também parte dessa mesma iniciativa, seu trabalho foi incluído na exposição Mundos Alternos: Arte e Ficção Científica nas Américas no UCR/California Museum of Photography, que em 2019 viajou para o Queens Museum em Nova York.
